Our CIS allies and self-identified feminists, created a group to show their support for us on Facebook called Transmisogyny is a Women’s Issue. This group has helped my heart heal a lot and it got broken the other day when one of our cis allies posted this in response to an article at http://mattachinereview.tumblr.com/post/26725237747/did-you-know-that-if-you-search-women-born-women.

the mattachinereview blog posted a picture of “born women” clog shoes and a series of bloggers proceeded to make fun of radfem’s fashion choices and appearances (omg radfems are sooooo ugly type of stuff). i pointed out that making fun of women’s appearances is actually misogynistic and anti-woman, as well as a pretty poor strategic tactic. a series of anonymous people began sending me hate messages and mattachinereview essentially commented that my opinion does not matter because i am a cis woman & if a critique needed to be made it would have by a trans* individual. they requested that i stay out of all dialogues involving trans issues. i cannot help but feel that mattachinereview is just trying to make excuses for their misogyny. however, if other trans* folks feel that i stepped out of line for butting in, will shut the hell up. i care deeply about my trans* friends and want to work towards acting as a better ally (i know that term is convoluted, but you know what i mean). i was wondering what your opinions are cause you all are awesome and i have tons of respect. does anybody else share my sentiments that making fun of fashion choices hurts all women? at what point is it appropriate for a cis woman to enter a trans* dialogue? in this case, i waited until like 85 notes and nobody had yet said anything.

This is not an attack on the group. I want to make that clear. However, you were called out, legitimately and responded in a very wrong way. It IS inappropriate to make fun of the appearance of women that are based on stereotypes.  It is mean.

Our ally was told to basically keep her mouth shut and that she had no right to voice an opinion because she wasn’t trans. Do you know how incredibly offensive that is? This is what we are being told by those who want to oppress us. I realize that the latest war between trans women and radical feminists have caused a lot of scars but we can’t alienate ourselves from everyone who isn’t like us. These women truly want to help us. When you do things like this, you are actually helping to oppress us! STOP IT! I suggest a sincere apology. It might also be a good idea for you to join our group and see what they are trying to do to help us. We NEED people like them!

Julie Bindel seems to be changing her perception on transgender people. Going as far as claiming to be somewhat transgender, herself. She does still have a negative view of delaying puberty but I don’t think she truly understands what it means. She goes on talking about people should learn to deal with their bodies and accept them. I agree with that, but not when it comes to trans children. Testosterone and Estrogen damage can cause serious problems down the road and sometimes requires extensive surgeries to correct. I hope she sees this one day. I wish I could have had my puberty delayed. Delaying puberty is not the same thing as stopping it.

Julie also talks about the war between trans women and the radical lesbian separatists. She wants it to end but is worried about vicious attacks and I understand that. I hope she can help end this war.

I think this is a step in the right direction. I don’t agree with everything Bindel says but I certainly believe she has a heart.

I have watched Panacea81′s videos on numerous occasions and was surprised when she created a video like this. She made her face look like she was beaten (bruises, cuts, etc) then started to show how to cover it up. A lot of women cover up the abuse but her last statement on the video is really what needs to be done.

I used to work in the bar and restaurant business and have been paid $2.13 an hour plus tips. I honestly had no idea this was still the wage for those we depend on to ensure we have a pleasant dining experience.

I used to look at my actual paycheck to cover taxes. Now, it seems the paycheck doesn’t cover your taxes, at all. Incredible

Rebecca Williams has waited tables, on and off, for 30 years. A lot has changed since her first stint in the business ended in the early 1990s. Restaurants now tout their commitment to local and organic fare. Diners eagerly pass and poke at tapas-style small plates. Chefs at brick-and-mortar restaurants now compete with a growing legion of food trucks. But one thing that’s remained consistent in all that time is Williams’ paycheck.

Williams, 50, has worked mostly at upscale bistros in Atlanta, Ga., earning $2.13 an hour before tips. It’s the most frustrating element of a job she largely enjoys, she says. That miniscule wage is usually swallowed up by taxes, leaving her to live on her tips, which can fluctuate from week to week.

And the lack of health care insurance for these essential hard workers is unacceptable. The White Dog Cafe, previously owned by Judy Wicks (awesome woman alert), used to provide health care coverage for their employees. I was sitting with them when they were discussing thIS, before it was implemented, and remember how proud I was of her. She is a truly amazing woman. She sold the business and retired in Center City Philadelphia, and the new owners honored the health insurance for previous employees but dropped it for anyone hired afterwords. They have effectively destroyed something that an amazing woman did for her employees.

Shame on the new owners! Shame on you!

I am going to keep my participation in this current war, to a minimum. In the title you see “Die Cis Scum”. This is said by a lot of those in the transgender community, who are actively battling radfems. Can you please stop doing this? Not only is it repulsive, but it also hurts your cause. There are a lot of feminists who fight for our inclusion in feminism, and when they see something like this, it probably offends them.

Please try to be “violent free”. I know we are an oppressed group. We are oppressed as women and trans women. We get a double dose of discrimination thrown at us. When you use violent rhetoric against people, others that might have wanted to help us, may turn their backs on us.

Dear Radical Lesbian Separatists,

If I, as a woman born transsexual, sleep with a male, is that gay sex? Am I not able to claim that it is heterosexual sex, what women born transsexual think it is?

If a trans man has sex with a lesbian, is that lesbian sex? If he has sex with a man, is that heterosexual sex?

Or, is it a transsexual “woman” who has sex with a non-trans “man” heterosexual sex?

I think you get the point I an trying to make. We all know that your own sexual orientation and/or identity, whichever is applicable, is important to you, on a fundamental level. Well, it is also important to us.

I consider myself bisexual because I am attracted to men and women. However, what makes me bisexual is my attraction to women.

The argument that is being pushed by radical lesbian separatists doesn’t actually allow me to exist. They say I am “male”, therefore if I am a male and have sex with a male, I am having gay sex. See the problem, here?

I was buddies with radical lesbian separatists until the cotton ceiling happened but I had no choice, but to withdraw my support for them. Because supporting them was wiping out my own self identity. I found it impossible.

I share some of the beliefs of this group but, in the end, I can’t support them, anymore, because I need to exist.

Wow! Just wow! I have had a twitter account, for a while now, but never used it much, outside of posting links to articles. Then came George Tierney of Greenville, SC into my twitternet. I was following Sandra Fluke, because she is what awesome is made of. I saw a tweet pop up on my page, from George Tierney of Greenville, SC, calling Ms. Fluke, a cunt. This is one of those words that is incredibly offensive and will get a spotlight placed on you.

Ms. Fluke then responded, including retweeting to her 34,000 followers. And then we see that George Tierney of Greenville, SC had more vile to sling her way. Little did he know he was making himself famous, in a really bad way.

He did a search on teh Google, for his name and found an article had written about his potty mouth. on Firedoglake. And then he tries to use his adorable charm to get them to take his comments off of their site.

Whoever runs this site needs to take my damn comments off of it. I did not give you permission, nor did you ask me for it. It shows up on google and I will see a lawyer if this doesnt disappear. Ask me before posting bullshit about me. You fuckers had no right.

He also got in a fight with another twitter citizen and told the person he needed to get his wife some goggles to get ready for a “Jap[sic] rain party” which means basically he was going to ejaculate on her face.
